Fourth Schweissen & Schneiden India in Mumbai Absolutely Successful with 6,420 Visitors

The fourth Schweissen & Schneiden India which has now come to an end in Mumbai was absolutely successful. 121 exhibitors (one third more than until now) from ten countries have participated in the fair on an area which has grown by 50 percent. 6,420 visitors (2,400 more than at the previous event) confirmed the position of Schweissen & Schneiden India as the number one in the sector in India. Frank Thorwirth, Chairman and CEO of Messe Essen: "In India too, we have once more proven that, with our network and the partnerships, we are providing effective and enduring support for the worldwide marketing activities of the exhibiting industry."

For the first time, Schweissen & Schneiden India took place in the Bombay Exhibition Centre in Mumbai after it had been staged twice: in Hyderabad and, most recently in 2008, in New Delhi. "The new venue of Mumbai has exerted a positive effect once again," according to Frank Thorwirth. With more than 18 million inhabitants, the gigantic port by the Arabian Sea is the fifth-largest metropolitan region in the world and is the economic centre of India. Together with the surrounding cities, Mumbai contributes around one third to the total industrial fabrication of India. Not only the chemical and petrochemical industries but also numerous mechanical engineering companies are domiciled there.

In surveys, exhibitors and visitors showed that they were very satisfied with the results of the fair. Almost all of them were able to achieve their objectives from the initiation and development of business right up to the completion of deals. There was a very large number of visitors to a DVS workshop on the technology of "Thermal Spraying", the coating of materials, as well as to an IWS welding technology symposium.

"Schweissen & Schneiden India" received competent expert support from its cooperation partners: DVS - Deutscher Verband für Schweißen und verwandte Verfahren ("German Welding Society"), IWS - Indian Welding Society and the Indian Ministry of Science and Technology. The German cooperative booth at the fair was promoted by the German Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs.

Messe Düsseldorf India staged the "Metallurgy India" and "Tube India" fairs with related subjects at the same time as "Schweissen & Scheiden India". The three events in which a total of around 300 exhibitors participated jointly form the largest fair platform for welding, cutting and coating as well as for tubes, pipelines and metallurgy in India.

The next Schweißen & Schneiden India will take place in October 2012, once again in the Bombay Exhibition Centre in Mumbai.
